First limousines available in half a year

On June 9, Public Transport Authority has signed a contract with Mobilis company, which will supply public transport with 50 articulated modern buses. They will ensure the highest standard of travel.

Although they have not been present on the streets yet, they can be already called limousines among buses. The list of their advantages and equipment is impressive.

All the buses will be brand-new and low-level. They will have the capacity to carry 190 passengers. Other facilities will be air-conditioning and comfortable soft seats. Upholstery of each seat will present Warsaw symbols such as, the Mermaid and the King Sigismund’s Column.

The buses will be both comfortable and safe. They will be equipped with monitoring system and the drivers will have radio communication to contact a controller, which is crucial in troublesome situations. Another novelty will be automatic firefighting system installed in an engine compartment.

The buses will also be adjusted to carry disabled passengers. Apart from a low floor, they will be equipped with stop announcement system, special platforms facilitating entering bus in a wheelchair and Braille buttons.

They will also be fitted with modern LCD displays providing current information, ticket machines, and passenger counting system.

They will also be ecological. Their engines will have to meet the current highest EURO 5 emission standards for vehicles. Their engines will use either standard or alternative fuel.

The contract will expire at the end of November 2018. The buses will be introduced to the streets in succession. The first part will be introduced half year after signing the contract. The last part – four months later, that is ten month after signing the contract. The buses will operate on the most overloaded lines of the whole transport network. They will make approximately 4 million bus-kilometers a year.
